Carole A. Feuerman

Serena

The Serena collection centers on one of Carole Feuerman’s most recognizable swimmer images: a woman resting against an inner tube, head lowered onto her arm as if the effort of the water has just ended. The motif grew from Feuerman’s earlier Innertube works and was later transformed into the more serene Survival of Serena, where rescue imagery gives way to a vivid pool float and a moment of earned calm. From miniature resin editions to monumental versions, changes in tube color, cap and finish alter the mood without disturbing the figure’s remarkable sense of private recovery.
