Diver
Carole Feuerman’s Diver captures athletic motion at the instant it becomes sculpture. The male figure is inverted in a handstand, body extended vertically above the narrow contact of his hands, turning technical control into a dramatic problem of gravity and balance. Created in bronze at multiple scales, the subject moves from table-top object to public monument without losing its tension. The Diver gained renewed international visibility when a monumental version was exhibited in Paris during the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic period, reinforcing the work’s dialogue between sport, discipline, courage and sculptural engineering.
