Super Heroes
In the Super Heroes collection, Richard Orlinski filters the language of comic book power through his own sculptural icons. Wild Kong and related figures adopt recognizable color codes, emblems and graphic details associated with heroic characters, bringing primal strength into dialogue with mass media mythology. The result is not simply costume applied to form: surface, pose and cultural memory work together to create highly immediate pop objects.
