Qt (papiers decoupes)
Alain Godon’s QT paper-cut works bring physical depth to his imagined cityscapes. Buildings, figures and small narrative details are cut and assembled in successive layers, separating foreground from background. Raised edges cast their own shadows, making light an active part of the composition. A shift in viewpoint reveals how the different planes interact. With vivid color and unexpected scenes, these one-of-a-kind paper reliefs extend Godon’s storytelling beyond the flat image, inviting the eye to move between individual details and the architecture of the whole.
