Beau Simmons

Fine Art Photography

This is the body of Beau Simmons's photographic work and the largest collection on his page. Trained in fashion photography before turning to long-form projects made on working ranches, he photographs the contemporary American West in medium and large format film — Western Heritage, Cowgirls Do It Better, The Old Ways — moving between portrait, landscape and close detail. The images dwell as much on gesture, tools, clothing and inherited traditions as on the spectacle of ranch life. Archival pigment prints, from around 50 cm to more than 1.50 m.
