Classic Series
A raised arm, the curve of a back or a figure beside a dressing table can organize an entire photograph. In his Classic Series, Hervé Lewis explores the nude and the human figure through light, posture and carefully composed surroundings. Black-and-white contrasts draw attention to the line of the body, while furniture, fabric and other forms introduce a sense of scale and setting. These fine art photographs move between the intimacy of an interior and the precision of a staged composition, allowing small gestures to hold the viewer’s attention.
