Medium
The Medium dolls stand between one metre and 1.15 m, the scale at which Rachel Bergeret's figures take on a full presence in a room. Each is named as well as numbered — Melinda, Vanessa, Valentina de Valentino, La Femme Pressée — and each descends from the whimsical midinette that made her known: a portrait of fashion drawn with humour and a little mockery. Built in mixed media, with acrylic, gold leaf and resin worked into the surface.
