Richard Orlinski French, b. 1966
Created in 2022 for Richard Orlinski’s solo exhibition in Dallas, Kong Barrel Tag – Dallas Edition is a unique artwork (1/1) conceived as a strong tribute to Texas and American identity. This 70 cm version offers a more imposing and expressive interpretation of the Dallas concept, firmly anchored in the artist’s iconic Kong series.
The sculpture portrays Kong lifting a barrel decorated with Texas and U.S.-inspired iconography, including references to the Lone Star and a bold red, white, and blue palette. Entirely hand-painted and tagged, the surface blends street art graphics with a glossy resin finish, enhancing the sculpture’s depth, energy, and sculptural tension.
This work was produced as a single, unrepeated piece, directly tied to the Dallas exhibition context, giving it a clear historical and geographic provenance. Its strong regional symbolism, combined with Orlinski’s instantly recognizable visual language, makes it a highly collectible statement sculpture connected to the artist’s American trajectory.
The sculpture is currently on display at our gallery partner, Samuel Lynne Galleries, in Dallas, reinforcing its local relevance and visibility within the Texas collector community.
