Roberto Matta’s 1999 retrospective at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, later shown in Barcelona.
In 1999 the Reina Sofía in Madrid presented a retrospective of Matta, the Chilean painter who had met Neruda and Lorca in Madrid in 1936. It travelled to the Fundació Caixa de Catalunya in Barcelona.
