Kaï – Perfect Hug at COTALAND, Austin
A 15-foot bronze by Kaï welcomes visitors at the entrance of COTALAND
COTALAND, Circuit of the Americas, Austin, TX (USA)
Kaï's Perfect Hug has entered the permanent collection of Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Standing 15 feet tall (about 4.5 meters), the monumental bronze with a gold patina greets visitors at the entrance of COTALAND, the new theme park at Circuit of the Americas, which opens to the public on September 26, 2026.
A welcome and a goodbye
Perfect Hug shows two of Kaï's Imaginary Friends in a close embrace. One hides its face in the hug; the other looks straight out at us, eyes wide open, as a ribbon of steel spirals away carrying a red heart into the air. Faceless and without age, gender or origin, IF lets every visitor see themselves in the scene: a child, a parent, a friend. At the gates of a place built for speed and spectacle, the sculpture celebrates the moment we stop for someone else. It is the first thing visitors see as they arrive at COTALAND, and the last as they leave — a welcome and a goodbye in a single gesture.
A permanent work for Circuit of the Americas
Conceived specifically for its site and acquired by Circuit of the Americas for its permanent collection, Perfect Hug is cast in bronze and finished with a gold patina. At 15 feet tall, it brings one of Kaï's most recognizable characters to a venue known around the world for motorsport and live events.
Perfect Hug also exists as a limited edition in bronze, carbon fiber and stainless steel (45 × 28 × 25 cm), available through Markowicz Fine Art.
