TERRITORIUM — Uruguay Pavilion, 16th Gwangju Biennale

Yangnim Art Center, Uruguay Pavilion, Gwangju, South Korea

Diego Masi’s TERRITORIUM was selected for Uruguay’s pavilion at the 16th Gwangju Biennale, with curatorship by Lukas Kühne.

Selected by Uruguay’s cultural authorities, TERRITORIUM brings Diego Masi’s investigations of sound, matter and movement into a national pavilion project curated by Lukas Kühne. The proposal brings together the installations Oír al Río and Linealmente, approaching landscape through listening and physical experience.

Conceived for Uruguay’s pavilion at Yangnim Art Center, the project approaches territory as a sensory experience rather than a fixed map. Its combination of material, sound and bodily perception extends questions that recur across Masi’s paintings and installations.
