Pin Up – Blue Crystal Clear & Chrome reveals a more sensual and refined facet of Richard Orlinski’s sculptural universe, where femininity, elegance, and material innovation converge. This work revisits the classic pin-up figure through a contemporary lens, transforming it into a luminous and sculptural presence.
Executed using Orlinski’s Crystal Clear technique, the upper figure is rendered in deep translucent blue epoxy resin, allowing light to penetrate the material and create subtle internal reflections. This transparency gives the sculpture a fluid, almost ethereal quality, contrasting beautifully with the chrome-finished base, whose mirror-like surface anchors the work in a more industrial and design-oriented aesthetic.
Standing 90 cm (35.5 inches) tall, the sculpture balances verticality and grace, emphasizing the curves and posture of the figure while maintaining a strong architectural presence. The dialogue between transparency and reflection, color and metallic surface, highlights Orlinski’s mastery of materials and his ongoing exploration of contrast—strength versus sensuality, instinct versus refinement.
This piece is signed and numbered, part of a limited edition of 8, with this example being number 7/8. Its controlled edition size, combined with the technical complexity of the Crystal Clear process and chrome finish, makes it a highly desirable collector’s sculpture, ideal for refined contemporary interiors or curated collections.
