Daniel Arsham American, b. 1980

Daniel Arsham is an innovative artist whose practice melds the realms of mythical contemporary archeology with a diverse array of mediums, including film, painting, sculpture, and installation. With a distinctive approach that transforms everyday objects and classical forms into enigmatic artifacts—whether corroded, calcified, or glitch-ridden—Arsham’s work evokes a sense of temporal dislocation and discovery. His installations often extend beyond traditional boundaries, manipulating gallery spaces themselves to amplify the immersive experience of his art.

Educated at the prestigious Cooper Union in New York, Arsham has exhibited his transformative work in major cultural capitals around the globe, including New York, Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai, Los Angeles, and London. His pieces are part of esteemed collections such as the Musée Guimet, the National Gallery of Victoria, the Pérez Art Museum Miami, and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami.

Beyond his fine art career, Arsham is known for his high-profile collaborations with renowned brands like Adidas, Dior, and Porsche, as well as his role as creative director for the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team. In 2008, he co-founded Snarkitecture with Alex Mustonen, an art and architecture collaborative known for its boundary-pushing projects and innovative designs. Through these diverse endeavors, Daniel Arsham continues to redefine contemporary art, blending past, present, and future into a compelling narrative of transformation and imagination.
