Eva Armisén: Home at Hangaram Art Museum

Her First Solo Museum Exhibition in South Korea

This video offers a look inside Home, Eva Armisén’s first solo museum exhibition in South Korea, presented at Hangaram Art Museum at Seoul Arts Center. Bringing together more than 200 paintings, drawings, ceramics and sculptures, the exhibition transformed the museum galleries into a sequence of intimate spaces inspired by the artist’s own universe.

Presented in Seoul from December 7, 2018 to March 31, 2019, Home invited visitors to move through the exhibition as though entering the artist’s own home. Monumental figures, family scenes, paintings and sculptural installations created an immersive environment centered on everyday life, memory and emotional connection.

The title carried a second, more personal meaning for Armisén. Beyond the physical idea of home, painting represents a place of refuge and freedom, a space to which she can always return.

The Seoul presentation launched a traveling museum exhibition that later continued to Cheonan, Daegu and Busan, marking an important chapter in the artist’s relationship with audiences in South Korea.
