Reine Paradis Miami exhibition

This film presents Midnight, the debut solo exhibition in Miami by French artist Reine Paradis, held at Markowicz Fine Art in the Miami Design District with an opening reception on Thursday, October 18, 2018.

Paradis constructs narrative photographs in which she stages herself as the central figure. Each image begins as an imagined scene and a sketch, followed by handmade props, costumes and origami, and is finally shot in a real location. The result is a series of surreal American landscapes, set against vivid, unnatural skies, that sit somewhere between reality and imagination.

The exhibition also included excerpts from Queen of Paradis, a feature-length documentary about the artist.
