Edgar Negret was among the artists of documenta 4 in Kassel in 1968, the same year as his Venice Biennale prize.
The fourth documenta in 1968 focused on the art of the moment. Negret’s machine-like constructions in painted aluminium, assembled with visible nuts and bolts, took their place in it.
