At the 34th Venice Biennale in 1968, the Colombian sculptor Edgar Negret received the David E. Bright Prize for sculpture.
Negret’s painted aluminium sculptures earned him the David E. Bright Prize at the 1968 Venice Biennale — a landmark for Latin American sculpture. The same year he showed at documenta 4 in Kassel.
