Mundus Meus

L’Atlas retrospective

Musée du Touquet-Paris-Plage – Édouard Champion, Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, France

A museum retrospective tracing the development of L’Atlas’s signs, paintings, photographs and work in public space.

Mundus Meus examined L’Atlas’s practice through a sequence of series, from the photographic project Toiles errantes to calligraphic structures, stamps, painted surfaces and work in marble. The retrospective connected his use of a repeated name with different materials, scales and modes of display.

Alongside the exhibition at the Musée du Touquet-Paris-Plage – Édouard Champion, an outdoor route of photographic panels documented interventions made in public spaces around the world. The route extended the retrospective into the town, connecting the intimate experience of a painted surface with the scale of urban space.
