At the Musée de l’Annonciade, Alain Godon revisited two paintings from the museum’s collection, bringing their imagery into his own visual language.
A Dialogue with the Collection
Housed in a former chapel on the port of Saint-Tropez, the Musée de l’Annonciade is known for its collection of early modern painting. For this exhibition Godon took two works from that collection as his starting point and reworked them through the story-driven architecture of his own compositions, so that the originals and their reinterpretations could be read side by side.
