Touring Exhibition Across South Korea

Andando / Walking is a major touring exhibition by Spanish artist Eva Armisén, presented across four cultural venues in South Korea between 2022 and 2024. Beginning at the War Memorial Museum in Seoul, the exhibition later traveled to Daejeon, Busan and Jeonju, introducing audiences to Armisén’s deeply personal visual world through painting, sculpture, ceramics and immersive installations.
Conceived around the idea of life as a journey, Andando / Walking explores movement, resilience, family, love, nature and the extraordinary moments found within everyday life.
A Journey Through Everyday Life
Walking becomes a metaphor for the paths we follow, the experiences we collect and the relationships that accompany us throughout life.
The exhibition brings together several recurring themes at the heart of Armisén’s practice. In Painting Life, painting itself becomes a way of observing, feeling and communicating the experience of being alive. Family and loved ones occupy an equally important place, transforming ordinary moments into lasting memories and revealing what the artist describes through her work as the extraordinary nature of everyday life.
Other sections explore love, nature, life, strength and fragility, and celebration. Across paintings, large-scale works and ceramics, Armisén moves between vulnerability and resilience, intimacy and universality. Nature appears as both a source of inspiration and a reminder of humanity’s connection to the world around us, while love and family provide an emotional thread throughout the exhibition.
Four Venues Across South Korea
An important part of the installation is La Plaza, an immersive environment conceived as a welcoming town square. Visitors are invited not only to observe the exhibition but to inhabit Armisén’s world, creating a space for gathering, play and shared experience.
First presented at the War Memorial Museum in Seoul from March 2022 to May 2023, Andando / Walking continued to the Daejeon Cultural Center from May to August 2023, P.Ark Center in Busan from September 2023 to March 2024, and the Sori Art Center in Jeonju from June to October 2024.
Through its journey across South Korea, Andando / Walking offered audiences an expansive view of Eva Armisén’s artistic language, one rooted in optimism, emotional connection and the belief that the seemingly ordinary moments of life can become extraordinary.
