No Ball Games (Green), signed, 2009
$60,000
InquireNo Ball Games is a playful yet sharply ironic work by Banksy. The print depicts two children at play, tossing a bright red “NO BALL GAMES” sign as if it were an actual ball. Rendered in Banksy’s signature stencil style, the image turns a simple prohibition into a humorous act of defiance.
The mostly monochromatic composition, with only the red sign standing out, underscores the social critique: even the most basic joys of childhood are increasingly restricted and regulated. At the same time, the children’s irreverent play hints at a subtle rebellion, suggesting that rule-breaking—when done with innocence and imagination—can be both natural and necessary.
No Ball Games was released in two colorways, Green and Grey, each edition limited to 250 signed prints.
