Yom de Saint-Phalle was born in Paris in 1970. Very early on, he learned modeling and painting, and later studied political science and journalism.
At the age of 24, he stopped painting and enrolled in the Legion Etrangere. In 2001, after more than 6 years in combat units all over the world, from Africa to the Balkans, he left the Legion Etrangere.
Back in France, his aunt, Niki de Saint-Phalle, invited him to come to California with her and perfect his artistic training. He enters into the world of sculpture as a welder; later evolving an interest in mosaics and composite materials. After the death of Niki de Saint-Phalle, he dedicated himself to his own creativity and pursued his training with Raymond Hains in Paris from 2002 to 2005.
Deeply impacted by the absurdity of the war, Yom develops an original approach to sculpture that emphasizes the absence of material more than the presence of material itself.
Yom currently lives and works in Paris, but travels a lot in order to show his work to art collectors all over the world.
