Jonah Waterous
Canadian, 1996
Jonah Waterous is a Canadian artist living and working in Nassau, Bahamas. As the youngest son of world-famous artist Jane Waterous, Jonah learned to explore his own creativity from a young age. Developing into an extraordinary talent, Jonah manifests his ideas into incredible works of art. Jonah entered the art world at just 18 years old with his first successful art show in Toronto, Canada. Since then, He has refined his unique style and developed a technique he has coined 'Dotilism.' Jonah creates dimension and texture by blanketing the canvas in thousands of three-dimensional acrylic dots. By using Dotilism, Jonah creates a pixelation effect that expertly merges the aesthetic of digital and real-world subjects. Jonah continues to evolve and expand the possibilities of Dotilism. His current series includes Swarm, Love Notes, Boom Pow Wow, and his latest sculptures, the "Wathead" characters. Jonah is quickly becoming one of the hottest young contemporary artists, with works collected worldwide and publicly displayed in galleries and prestigious establishments such as the Four Seasons Ocean Club.
