Eric Alfaro Cuban

Cuban-American artist Eric Alfaro is an emerging contemporary artist, known for his unique painting style. Alfaro paints a range of subject matter including, people, fish, and nature. Yet, it is his gestural approach that sets him apart from other artists. Throughout his artworks, Eric builds a beautiful texture, adding a unique sense of dimensionality and transience to his art style.

Like other classic artists, Eric Alfaro was classically trained at the Academy of Arts when living in Cuba. Yet after graduating, the painter took his classical training and blended it together with contemporary influences, to establish his own art style.

Influenced by Modern Impressionism, Eric's oil paintings on canvas has earned him the reputation as the Modern-Day Monet. His process is quite extensive, he first uses photographic references, then alters each element with variations and colors. Afterwards, the artist paints his canvases, using either acrylics or oil, and employing various types of brushes and spatulas to create different effects. With this technique, Eric Alfaro's oil paintings bridge the gap between Modern Art and Contemporary Art.
